This track was written by Mochelan and produced by me, after a writing workshop with the residents of the « 5 Blocs » neighborhood in Brussels. The song is a sharp critique of urban planning and the way certain neighborhoods are neglected and left behind, while others get gentrified and transformed. Mochelan turned the residents’ words into powerful, sarcastic, and honest lyrics, shining a light on the daily realities and struggles of these communities.

I produced a laid-back, reflective beat to let the stories breathe and keep the focus on the message.

It’s a track about giving a voice to those who are often ignored, and highlighting the hidden side of the city through music.
