Hymne à l’imperfection is a unique stage piece written and performed by Brussels-based artist Maky. Directed by Manuel Antonio Pereira, this performance digs into the beauty of imperfection, celebrating mistakes and personal stories as sources of strength and meaning.

The show blends theater, live music, and slam poetry into an autobiographical journey, exploring childhood, school, disability, and self-discovery. On stage, I composed and performed the music live, with room for improvisation to stay connected to the narrative. Originally designed for a spatial audio setup with 10 speakers (including overhead and behind the audience), the soundtrack is immersive, placing the audience at the heart of the story’s atmosphere.

Hymne à l’imperfection is more than a performance: it’s a raw, human, and deeply personal experience, shaped by Maky’s words, Manuel’s direction, and live music.
